About us
Who we are
Pike Brothers Superior Garments specializes in the production of vintage Army- and Work wear from the 1930s to the 1950s. We think that the traditional has won over time when quality was involved. Only with carefully selected materials and the high degree of attention to details are we able to produce garments which can meet our very high standard and will be unique in appearance as well as superior in comfort and durability. Our garments are more than the sum of fabric, patterns and accessories. They have a story to tell, the story of who they are and where they come from.
Where we come from
Pike Brothers has been founded by George and Joseph Pike in 1930. Their small but exclusive tailoring shop was located in the Portobello Road in the heart of London, Notting Hill. Their specialty: custom made men`s wear.
During the Second World War and with the steadily growing number of American soldiers coming to Britain, the Pike Brothers also specialized in the production of U.S. uniforms for the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. They combined the finest British fabrics together with European craftsmanship and created an unmistakable profile with the styles from overseas; sturdy American men’s wear with a European influence; a heritage we still feel obligated towards today.
What we do
Detached from the conventional, we are creating our garments to the sturdy and true style without losing focus for function. We know from our own activities about the value of functional and quality garments. In order to meet our high quality expectations we are working with small traditional orientated weavers and tailoring shops in Europe. However, it is not only the finished product which is important for us, but also how a product is made. Therefore we are using traditional looms and vintage production techniques which have been passed on for generations.
We feel obliged to the tradition. The True Style.
