The U.S. Army Air Force B-10 intermediate flight jacket

//The U.S. Army Air Force B-10 intermediate flight jacket

The U.S. Army Air Force B-10 intermediate flight jacket was initially introduced as a replacement for the earlier leather flight jackets like the A-2s or the B-3s.

Highly favored due to its sharp appearance and higher comfort it was not only worn by fighter aces of the U.S. Army Air Forces, but also by other branches of the U.S. Forces as well.

The B-10 was a military jacket that was also very popular as an easy to wear civilian jacket. It continues to influence civilian work and casual jackets today.

After the war these jackets were used for all kinds of activities and were worn down, which explains their rareness today.

With the B-10 Flight jacket  a long era of sheepskin and leather jackets ended and ushered into the great era of flying blousons. From the B-15 and the popular MA-1, to the latest generation CWU-45, all are based on the B-10.
