The Music -->
Fascinated by raw and intense vocals, percussive playing and a driving sound of great rhythmic and emotional intensity. The raw, stomping bluesman on the trail of the Mississippi.
The Delta Magpie one-man band brings the music and soul of Mississippi to Europe, a blazing firework display from ragtime to delta blues from boogie blues to rockabilly. Raw vocals, driving guitar sound and pure dobro slides supported by stomping foot stomp in combination with foot snare, hi-hat, kazoo and harp.
The New Album -->
“Cold In Hand” was recorded entirely with analog equipment. It captures the warmth, authenticity and rawness of the good old days.
The sound of the Miss Studer A80 16-track analog tape machine and the old microphones reproduce the magic of the golden age and bring it directly to the beloved crackling vinyl.
The 12 songs were recorded in a 3-day live recording session. All instruments and vocals were recorded simultaneously by The Delta Magpie, with no overdubs or loops.
Just as he plays the music on stage as a one man band, analog without loops. The album will be released in a limited edition of 300 copies each (vinyl LP & CD) and contains 9 original songs plus 3 interpretations by John Lee Hooker, Bukka White, SheltonBrothers/Scotty Moore.
The vinyl LP also contains a printed inner sleeve with illustrations of the individual songs.
