1942 Hunting Jacket – True North American History in outdoor apparel
Outdoor Jackets have a totally different history and development in North America than their European counterparts. European outdoor jackets were mostly “borrowed” from formal jackets and only slightly adapted for life outdoors.
Not so in the USA. There outdoor garments were directly designed and constructed for their specific outdoor purposes. This is strongly reflected by their fits and gadgets that were built in the garments.
Our 1942 Hunting Jacket is a typical example of that time. It offers a 1940s fit and lots of pockets to store your outdoor necessities. A further feature is the big pocket in the back for storing either small game, a blanket or newspaper. The reinforced shoulders make it easier when carrying a back pack.
Hunter are using leather bomber or biker jackets now a days I think they can’t compromise about their attitude.
