Pike´s Blue Bird Bus – in the works

//Pike´s Blue Bird Bus – in the works

After receiving a  German registration and all safety checks with brakes, lights and emission tests according to European Emission Standards we finally started the conversion of the interior.

There was and still is a lot to be done.  Before getting started all seats had to be removed, which was quite a headache, since most of the bolts were rusty and gave us a hard time.

We recycled some of the benches to make new ones according to German safety standards.

After a bit of sewing we were able to re-use the old bench covers, to keep the original look to the bus.

To be able to get a German mobile home registration the vehicle has to have a camping kitchen with running water and a gas stove. We hope with our take on a camping kitchen will meet all the requirements.

Next we will built a sleeping booth. Stay tuned, we`ll keep you posted.

Super cool project, could you share which papers you got with the bus ?
I have found a shorter version of your bus, here in Denmark, but there are no papers with it, due to a fire.
Would you happen to know a contact in the US Army in Germany for more infomation?
