1966 Jungle Pant olive
The Tropical Combat Uniform was the standard uniform of U.S. soldiers during the Vietnam War. Developed in the early 1960s, it was designed to withstand the extreme climatic conditions of the jungle. The uniform was made of lightweight cotton poplin, which dried quickly, was lightweight, and yet very durable. The jacket and pants featured various spacious pockets to store equipment such as maps and other essentials. Button plackets were concealed to prevent snagging on plants or similar obstacles.
The Tropical Combat Uniform was a milestone in the design of modern military and outdoor clothing. Its influence on textile designs concerning functionality and durability persists to this day, impacting military, work, and everyday clothing.
Our 1966 Jungle Pant is the second version, featuring concealed button plackets and waist adjusters. Like the original, we have crafted our 1966 Jungle Pant from lightweight cotton poplin.
