M1951 Field Jacket olive
The 1951 Field Jacket, or M-1951 as it was called in the U.S. Army, was the successor to the M-1943 Field Jacket. The 1951 is the progenitor of all modern functional jackets. Developed in the early 1950s, its goal was to provide excellent freedom of movement, ample storage space, and the capability to accommodate an inner lining. Additionally, the aim was to create a jacket that could be used both in the field and for garrison duty. All these features were successfully combined in the 1952 Field Jacket.
Although produced for only a few years, it quickly achieved the status of a cult jacket. The 1951 Field Jacket was crafted from a 9oz heavy Poplin fabric that offered excellent resistance against wind and moisture. The front zipper was secured with a heavy Talon and concealed by a button placket. The inner lining could be attached to the jacket with buttons.
We have produced our 1951 Field Jacket according to the same specifications as in the early 1950s, reviving this legendary jacket. From the tightly woven Poplin outer fabric to the No. 10 Talon Zipper and authentic size stamps.
