1923 Buccanoy Shirt Huaba blue
Our 1923 Buccanoy Shirt is the right choice when you want something a little more upscale. What inspired us to make it? All of the shirts in our 1923 Buccanoy series are based on a historical model from the twenties, which itself looks back on an even much older tradition. As early as the mid-19th century, men's fashion favored stand-up collar shirts. The highlight of the reduced collar shape: short stand-up collars offered the possibility of buttoning on another more elegant collar - at that time preferably the so-called patricide. The detachable add-on not only gave the shirt a more formal character, it also made it easier to clean and starch the collar part, which was more affected and got dirty faster. Until the 1940s, this type of shirt enjoyed great popularity, until it was more and more displaced by the models with turn-down collars, which are firmly processed with the shirt, still widely used today.
We pay tribute to the original - it is also possible to button a collar on our Buccanoy shirts.
For the 2023 season, we've made our 1923 Buccanoy shirt from a lightweight 5oz chambray. So ideal to be well dressed in the summer.
